So Sad
A stop motion animation short film about online dating
This project came at the end of my degree and was completely unrelated to graphic design but fueled my need to experiment, create three dimensional objects with my hands and teach myself new skills. I have always been a tinkerer and DIY person. As a kid I made my own dolls, their clothing and resorted to building a house and furniture out of cardboard and scraps when I wasn’t gifted the esteemed Barbie mansion. I grew up with puppetry tv shows on German television which was my first peak into that realm of story telling. A couple of years ago I saw the Laika exhibit at the Portland Art Museum which was very inspiring to me and led me to try my hand at stop motion. I’m currently in the process of starting a new stop motion collaboration with a local band and am very excited about embarking on that journey.
