Serving as lead designer and project manager, I developed a complete retrofit of the interpretive exhibits and interior signage for the South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve Visitor Center, fully reimagining the previous visitor experience.

The exhibits guide visitors through the estuary’s dynamic habitats, rich cultural history, and ongoing scientific research and stewardship. Fully reimagined and layered, the displays feature tactile elements crafted from natural materials and encourage hands-on exploration of diverse environments, from freshwater to salt marshes. Interactive highlights include a children’s table, a lenticular print, a large digital habitat map, and tactile models, all designed to engage visitors with the region’s species, ecosystems, and ecological stories.

„They advance a core part of the Reserve's mission: to couple scientific breakthroughs and traditional ecological knowledge to inform communities.“

– Governor Tina Kotek speaking about the new exhibits at the South Slough Visitor Center on August 13, 2024
