Gelnhausen Map
Illustrated map created for my hometown Gelnhausen in Germany.
I have done many tours of the various tourist attractions and enjoyed creating individual illustrations. This is a work in progress. I would like to expand on this by adding more illustrations and perhaps additional town maps in the future.
Done by digitizing pen drawings as well as watercolor textures and hand lettering.
Fun Fact: In the year 1170 my German hometown Gelnhausen was founded by Emperor Barbarossa (meaning red beard). This illustration is based on stone carving found in the ruins of the imperial palace.
